Nice! 2010 brings some really good things with it... Can't wait to get my hands on that new depth of field tool - and oh yes - RED conform via Wiretap Central would be very handy.... Pity it won't run on the IBMs though - lot of people around town are screwed in the sense that the IBM platform is no longer supported.

Flare is an assist station only to Flame and Inferno customers.

It is designed to take all the hard work from the clients eyes, i.e you work on the flame do the nice fancy shots when the client is there, whilst the little monkey in the corner does the rotoscoping, keying etc with the footage.
client thinks they are getting a better deal and are not in the room paying through the nose for rendering time.
The Demo they had at NAB was amazing with workflow between smoke, flame, flare and Lustre

I think it's a great Idea.

I wish I had a monkey in the corner. I would feed it peanuts.

Just like the US navy trained dolphins to detect mines, I think Autodesk should start a monkey training program for Flare. Buy a Flare, get a monkey. Monkeys make me smile :D I reckon they would make great companions in a Flame suite. Most of them are very clean and great for easing tension when things are dicy.

Hey theres nothing wrong with being a flame monkey!

The only problem is I just don't think i'm quite as entertaining as a real monkey...
